The Maintenance Technician supports all of the properties in our portfolios (multi-family, single family and commercial) with general maintenance work and repairs, such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, drywall, and vinyl flooring jobs.
Responsibilities and Duties
Complete maintenance tasks in a professional manner, in compliance with local building codes.
Communicate with on-site managers and Property Managers regarding issues on site.
Maintain accurate work order records, and accurate supply purchase records.
Report any unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately.
Report extraordinary issues (dry rot, etc.) to supervisor, as well as to property manager
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in construction trades, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, dry wall and vinyl floor installation.
Valid driver’s license from the State of residence.
Own vehicle (pick-up truck or van) to transport supplies, tools, and purchased materials.
Ability to lift 40 lbs., climb stairs and ladders, and work in confined spaces – attics, building crawl spaces, under sinks.
Position requires basic computer competency – use of internet, email, and tablet software.
Nature of Position
Position does not supervise others, and work is normally performed at various locations throughout the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area.
Position involves physical labor to ensure tasks are completed properly.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions is required. Although uniform shirts are provided, Technicians are expected to provide their own other, weather-appropriate clothing.
Position typically works Monday through Friday, with occasional approved overtime necessary.
Travel by vehicle is necessary.
Position requires participation in rotating emergency after hours & weekend On Call Schedule.
This is an hourly, non-exempt position, depending on experience.
Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS rate, adjusted quarterly.
Mileage reimbursement is paid monthly.
Technician is required to have a smart cell phone (Android or iPhone OS).
Technician will be reimbursed $50 per month for the cell phone use.
6 uniform shirts will be provided as well as a ball cap.
